Preparing for Tax Season

As you are gathering information for your 2012 tax return remember that we don’t need all of your information to get a good start on your return. If you are waiting for just a few items, please send in your information now – the earlier the better. We can add the missing pieces later. Not only will your return be finished earlier than it otherwise would be, but we will have a better idea of what you will owe on April 15.

The IRS is scrambling to prepare the 2012 forms for filing. Most individual forms will be ready by January 30. However, that tax software vendors will still need to adjust their programs for the changes. We will work hard on our end to ensure that your returns are filed timely.
The passing of the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 allows us to return to traditional tax planning methods rather than focusing on the issues related to changing income tax laws. We will manage tax issues based on income when realized and use the benefits of deductions and exclusions to best fit the client’s unique situations.
